Thank you, Sherwin Williams Coastal Cool collection

I don't know why, but choosing paint colors has been completely stressing me out. Like, major anxiety. My problem is that I'm not very coordinated, and while I know what I like, I don't really know what "goes together" when it comes to design. We stopped in our Sherwin Williams store last night and attempted, since we have a very hands-on toddler, to look at swatches. It was a total bust (there are way too many things at toddler eye level to get into), I grabbed as many of the swatches & color idea pamphlets as I could and we came home.

Thankfully one of those that I grabbed was the Coastal Cool collection and I fell in love as soon as I saw it; I am a total sucker for all things turquoise/blue-green/aqua, and having an entire palette of 20 colors to help me coordinate complimentary colors helped us to pick the colors for our entire first floor (don't get me started on the second floor)!

Unfortunately these colors aren't anywhere close to the swatches
Palette in the shade
In the sun
Entry, Mudroom, Staircase (and possibly Living room, Dining Room): Accessible Beige SW 7036
Powder room (possibly): Rapture Blue SW 6773
Kitchen: Sea Salt SW 6204
Morning room (AKA Fi's playroom): Cooled Blue SW 6759. This is probably my favorite color in the group!
Family Room: Watery SW 6478
Office: Scanda SW 6529
(These selections are subject to change, because I am super indecisive & a compulsive over-analyzer.)

Adding another home purchase to the list

Rob has wanted to a newer, bigger TV for years. We kept putting it off because we didn't have space, we didn't have the money, we didn't need it. We knew we would need a bigger TV for the new house since there is a great distance from the wall where the TV would be & the kitchen and I like to see what's going on while I'm cooking. Plus the loft would be empty so we planned to put our current entertainment center & TV in it for Rob to play his PS3.

Well we knew based on previous research that the prices are the best the week before Super Bowl, and since his birthday is today, we knew it was either buy one this weekend or hold off until next Super Bowl.

So off shopping we went & were happily surprised when we found we could upgrade to a 60" for only $150 more than the 55" Samsung we have had our eye on. We put it on layaway so we didn't have to worry about buying & bringing it home just to move it again in four weeks, plus we ended up saving $800 with the sale (and you know from my fridge post, I love saving money)!

Our weekly PM update

After a rough week of weather with the freezing temps at night capped off with a beautiful day of sleet a lot of things got done on your home. The siding distributor delivered the wrong siding and we caught it after the majority was up. They were taking down and putting up once the correct siding was delivered. They were actually very efficient in doing so. The stone at the front was installed also this week. Inside we got out of drywall, primed the walls, started interior trim and cabinets. Due to the weather today the cabinet contractor ended early and will be finishing up tomorrow. Next week we will have the drywall point up, 2nd paint and the vinyl and ceramic floor coverings. At the end of the week we should start final trades. Tuesday the painter is scheduled and the forecast is for 72 degrees so, we should be able to paint the exterior.
Outside we will be working on underground power, gas, water and sewer. Once they are installed we will be ready for exterior landscaping.

Closing date is set!

We received an email from our NVR rep; our pre-settlement demonstration has been set for February 20 at 1 p.m. with a closing date for the 22nd! We are grateful that they were able to keep the deadline they promised us (especially with the copper theft setback) and we're hoping there are no bumps with NVR and their infamous paperwork issues!

Our weekly PM update

Thanks for taking the time Monday to meet for the pre-drywall meeting. We were able to get the home rewired and the gas line that was cut out replaced.  We have the rough inspections called in and just waiting on the inspector. The drywall was stocked today. Next week we will insulate, get an insulation inspection and should be in drywall mid week.  The siding will be started next week also.

Our weekly PM update

Good week getting through rough trades. Looking forward to your pre-drywall meeting Monday 1/7 at 11am. Next week we will be doing the frame punch and getting inspections so we can insulate and get in drywall.
